Saturday Road Ride Leaders

In order for our Saturday Road Rides to take place, we need volunteers to lead. If you can lead a ride or two (or even more) that would be fantastic and we would like to hear from you. Saturday A Road ride – 1st Oct

Thanks to Justin Stanbrook for volunteering to lead the A ride this weekend, i’m going to post his route below but you would have all probably guessed it already haha!! Mountain Bike Ride for Roadies and Even MTBers! – Saturday 1st October

Having chatted to a few of you at the AGM it seemed there is a bit of an appetite for another one of our occasional Saturday ‘Depart from YOGi HQ MTB rides’. So this will be another ride led by Ian and me both of us also having that urge to do some MTBing again.  We expect the trails are pretty dry err…………despite the last 24 hrs so seems a waste not to enjoy them before they once again become a winter mud fest. Saturday B Road ride – 1st Oct

Thanks to Bill Booth for volunteering to lead the B ride this weekend, his route is as follows; Route as follows:B&Q to Tamar Bridge then up to Hatt then back lanes up towards Callington then down to Liskeard. Lanes down valley through Duloe to Looe then back up to No Mans Land, Hessenford and Seaton for cafe stop. This is 38 miles so bring loads of drink & food. Then up Downderry Hill along cliffs to Tregantle, Torpoint ferry and back to base. 55 miles total with 4,900 ft climbing. Current forecast dry.

Saturday D road ride – 1st Oct

Thanks to Mike Smith for volunteering to lead the D ride this weekend, route is as follows; D ride for saturday. B&Q 0830. Roborough, yelverton, tavy, chillaton, lifton, launceston, minions, bolventor, looe, seaton ( coffee ), Torpoint. After a week off over indulging, perhaps a steadier pace! This depends on who turns up so if you havent ridden a D ride in a while or want to step up from C why not give it a go.

Saturday C Road Ride – 24th Sept

This week’s C ride will once again be led by Gavin Avery and his better looking assistant… 😀 Plan is for a trip to bandit country so it’s either B&Q for 9 or if you fancy a bit of a lay in we’ll aim to be at the bridge around 09:40. From there it’s the main road to Hatt before diving in to the lanes through to Callington. We’ll then head out through either Rilla Mill or Bathpool and up towards Pensilva. Saturday B Road ride – 24th Sept

Thanks for to Will Watts for volunteering to lead the B ride this weekend, his route is as follows; Heading to Slapton. From B&Q on to Ivybridge, Wrangaton, California Cross, Gara Bridge, Morleigh, Slapton. Cafe stop at Sea Breeze in Torcross. Back via A379 West Charleton, Kingsbridge, Modbury, Yealmpton etc. 55 miles 4400ft of climbing. We can decide whether to shorten the route to a Loddiswell loop if the weather forecast gets worse. Rain and high winds were forecast but hopefully that will hold off until later in the day.

Alternative Ride – 24th Sept (Becky Pengelly & Mike Gould)

On offer this weekend, we have alternate MTB / CX / Roadie Trip, being organised and lead by both Becky Pengelly and Mike Gould Meeting at 8.15 in the B&Q car park with a view to leave at 8.30am and drive in convoy up to Ashburton. Route will be 38 to 40 miles with a mixture of off road and on road mileage. The route could be completed on a cross bike but a couple of bits dismounts may be needed. Have a good day out!

MTB Fun/Social ride – Saturday 17th Sept 2016

It’s the 3rd Saturday of the month and we will be meeting at 1000hrs at Roborough Rock (carpark by the large rock, on the old airfield near Yelverton). Meet there and drive to a nearby start point.  Bring a change of clothes as we will go to the Burrator for a drink/food afterwards for those that wish to do so. Saturday C Road ride – 17th Sept

Thanks to Gavin Avery for volunteering to lead the C ride this weekend, his route as follows; Route will be Wrangaton, California Cross, Gara Bridge, Moreleigh, past Woodlands, turn right towards Strete, Slapton Sands, Torcross, Stokenham, Chillington, Frogmore, West Charleton, Kingsbridge, cafe stop will be at Avon Mill garden centre.The cafe stop is about 40 miles in. After the cafe stop its back via Loddiswell, California Cross, Erme Valley, Ivybridge, B&Q. Pace will be 14-16, distance is 62 miles, 4500 feet of climbing.
