Shred Classic Report
avatar

I won’t pretend to be a David Duffield/Phil Ligget of the YOGi world but here is my take on a very entertaining event with particular credit to YOGi member Matt McArthur, okay I’m maybe a little biased but…….. Once again Shred Racing put on a very entertaining and tough event, I’m sure it’s fair to say that the revised format of a much shorter course increased the level of excitement well at least from a spectator perspective anyway.  It also seemed to make the racing much closer too despite the best efforts of the mightily strong South Devon Cycling Club … Read more…

Photo Of The Month
avatar

Sat here in my office, looking out of the window onto the grey wet day that today is, it’s hard to believe that we were blessed with two perfect days of riding this weekend.

I’m pretty sure we all enjoyed our rides this weekend and a photo was uploaded which exemplifies what it is to enjoy a sunny day on the bike with like-minded people. It is my favourite photo so far this year.

Fancy some different scenery? fancy some different conversation? fancy a different cafe stop?…..if so read on :-)
Newquay Velo cycle club have come up with a fantastic offer to host a ride for us on Sunday the 27th May. We have agreed a suggested start time from Newquay of 09:00am, which would mean leaving Plymouth at around 07:45am. The agreed route is 55 miles long. It basically heads South to the coast at Mevagissy before returning North to Newquay. There will be an obligatory :-) cafe stop mid ride, and a possible buffet on completion (would be £5 a head). Shred Classic Plymouth Hoe – Sunday 13th May
avatar

The Shred Classic Bicycle Race returns to Plymouth Hoe for another evening of fast paced road cycling action. The Shred Classic is not your normal bike race; the short circuit, tight bends and risk of elimination make action the top priority. It’s exciting to watch and even more exciting to ride. This year the Shred Classic follows on from a whole day of cycling as the Sky Ride mass participation ride visits the city. Bring your family along for a gentle pedal around the Sky Ride loop during the day and then get ready for the show on the Hoe … Read more…

Right then, we’ll try again. After the winds of last Sunday cut this ride short (very short), this Sunday, if the weather allows, we will be attempting this Dartmouth route again. This will be a sociable group ride ridden at a mutually agreed pace (no one will be dropped).

At Dartmouth we will turn back along the coast via Blackpool Sands, Slapton and Kingsbridge and then inland through Loddiswell, California Cross (again), Ermington, Ivybridge, Lee Mill and home again!
