And so we go again! I’m very pleased to announce the return & 2nd year of our Spring / Summer TT Series. With a mix of both Individual and Team events whilst each month will mark a different course. These events will be club lead and taking place on a Tuesday night rather than a Wednesday this year. This to maximise the numbers of participants. whilst allowing members to continue riding club Wednesday night rides and the possible introduction of a YOGi Chain gang on Wednesdays also. This week we are heading out to Launceston and stopping at the Lifton farm shop. Full route as follows – HQ – Tamar Bridge – Callington – Treburly – Launceston – Lifton. Due to some wanting to get back in good time for footy Tim is meeting Robbie at the George Junction for 8am and riding the following; Moretonhampstead/Bovey/Ivybridge loop. Probably stopping at Bovey Cafe 360. 16-18 average.
Weathers looking great again, so here’s the route for Saturday – HQ – cycle path to Clearbrook – Drakes trail to Yelverton – Road up to Princetown – we will stop at Fox Tor Cafe for refreshments, this is around 15 miles into the ride. After the cafe stop we get some pay back by descending back down to Dousland. We then do a part loop of Burrator before heading around Sheeptor Village and towards Cadover Bridge. Mike has offered to lead again this week, thanks Mike, He’s heading into Cornwall, if anyone wants to meet the ride at the Tamar Bridge, I expect the ride to arrive here around 9.40 ish. his plans – Route will be Tamar Br, Blunts, St Germans, and onto Cliff Top cafe. Return via Tregantle and Antony. About 42 miles from HQ I think. Want to be back home, showered and beers in hand for the 3pm England kick off so prompt depart from HQ preferred. Have a good ride.
Nikki and Emma have offered to lead this ride, they are planning to head out to the Winking Prawn at Salcombe. The planned route below. Have a great ride. HQ – Wrangaton – California Cross – Loddiswell – Kingsbridge – Salcombe – Winking Prawn for food stop. WInking Prawn – Aveton Gifford – Modbury – Yealmpton – Plympton – HQ. With the Dartmoor Classic upon us, Justin Stanbrook is leading a club training ride in prep for the Classic; Leaving HQ going Via Duex alpes, dousland, then heading out Moretonhsmpstead via Princetown, coffee stop at Bovey Tracey then back to Plymouth via Haytor and Buckfastleigh Route is 65 miles with 6300ft of climbing, so bring your climbing legs with you! OUCH!!!
We are still in need of a 12-14 and 16-18 Ride leader tomorrow. These rides will proceed as planned and both a leader / route can be determined on the morning should we not have anyone come forward in advance.
