Morning all. With many areas around the moors affected by a icy and dangerous road conditions. We have to think about the safety of our members as a priority. Report from Ivybridge where I live, is Icy conditions. Whereas the report from Plymouth confirms warmer temperatures and no ice. Therefore we have decided to continue with the rides for now, pending investigation on the way down to B&Q (I guess I’m the brave soul) A final decision will be made at HQ. I will be there for about 915.
Thanks to both Phil Williams and Si Rooke for leading the A ride this weekend, route will be; A ride to Totnes, BnQ, Ivybridge, South Brent, Darlington,Totnes, possibly the same route back with some minor changes.
Hoping for Warmer and drier weather this week, as I plan to lead the C ride out to Okehampton. Route will be; Okehampton via Tavistock, with Cafe stop at the Okehampton Train station and a return trip via Lydford / Brentor / Tavistock / Yelverton / Roborough. All eyes on the Cold conditions and a late call to cancel should there be any severe Ice on the roads.
Thanks to Bill Booth this week, for volunteering his services to lead the B Ride. Route is as follows; From B&Q to Tamar Bridge through Saltash then Hatt and lanes to Callington. Then head across to Tavy thankfully down Gunnislake Hill on the way. At Tavy either cafe stop at Bobs or push on to Fox Tor cafe in Princetown From Princetown normal sprint back down to Plymouth. Full loop 48.2 mile 4619 ft climbing. Weather forecast cold but dry.
Hi All, Its the 1st Saturday of the month so another MTB fun/social ride is in order. We will be meeting at the Large rock on the old airfield near Yelverton @10am. We will drive onto an alternative start point. Remember to bring spare clothes for the pub afterwards. Steve

His route as follows; Totnes loop, 55 miles 4800 feet of climbing B&Q to Ivybridge to Ermington, up the valley out to Cali Cross,Gara Bridge to Morleigh, hang a left down towards Diptford, then right to Harberton main road to Totnes.Then on to Dartington, right at the top of the hill to Staverton ,cafe stop at the Riverford Farm Shop. Hi all, hope you have had a lovely Christmas. Not an official Club ride but a chance for a last Social ride in 2016 at a easy B/C type pace. I’m planning on leaving Ivybridge (Assuming wife recovers from Sickness in time) for about 8am and heading towards B&Q for 9am. Was then thinking of route into the South Hams, likely to be a Slapton loop. Aim to be back for about 1-130pm.

With Club rides now finished for the year, for those who wish to ride still. Justin Stanbrook has organised a Festive “Non club” ride for Christmas Eve. B&Q to Tavy which dependant on group ability and size we will either go up through Leigham or the cycle path. Gunnislake, Callington and back to Plymouth, Louis tea rooms for the coffee break ride. Pace will be dependant on who wants to ride, the aim is to be back by 1.30 as it’s Christmas Eve Thank you again Justin and Merry Christmas to all.
Date for your Diaries Christmas family fun ride 27th December 2016. Meet at B and Q car park at 10am. All welcome as inclusive ride at a leisurely pace. Great time to test the new bikes. Plan to cycle up to Yelverton and then possibly Tavistock for some. Bring a packed lunch as it’s a bank holiday so cafe choices may be limited.
