Pre Christmas Ritual ’14’ Road Ride – Saturday 20th December
avatar

As is custom on the last Saturday before Christmas this week’s ride will end at the Burrator Inn, where we will meet up with the other Road and MTB rides for a post ride social gathering! Tinsel and Fancy Dress encouraged! And to be extra helpful the ride will pass the Burrator Inn at approx. 10:00am (ish!) on the outward leg. That way those who prefer have the option to leave their car and warm/dry/normal/Christmas Jumpers/clothes there to change into.  Of course the extra keenies will leave their car early and ride down to Coypool whereas those who want a lie … Read more…

Thanks to Adrian ‘the Jensie’ Longman for offering to lead this weeks 16 ride…in his words: It’s looking like a reasonable forecast again for Sat and a route out to Bodmin Moor is planned so that I shouldn’t get us lost. So it’s out to the bridge, Callington, Minions, Draynes Valley to Jamaica Inn, Colliford, Dobwalls, Looe and back to the ferry. Cafe stop will be Looe. I think steady will be the order of the day as I suspect that most of us will have struggled to get the miles in of late. See you Sat. Cheers, Adrian. Route:  http://www.strava.com/activities/116964941 This is a great route … Read more…

Meet at Roborough Rock car park @ 10am (large lump of Granite by the old airfield near Yelverton). We will ride from there. Best to bring a change of clothes for afterwards as we will go to the Pub for a drink/snack/meal afterwards as per usual. Weather wise, it looks dry, not much wind, but around 0-3degrees, so dress appropriately. John 07824505817

Saturday 16 Road Ride – 6th December

Better late than never…here is the plan for tomorrow’s 16 ride Thought we  could start with a gentle lead out across the pan flat South Hams before heading up on to Dartmoor.  So the suggested route is out through Plymstock and up the A379 through Yealmpton and on to Ermington.  Then up the valley and straight on to Avonwick to pick up the Totnes road. From Totnes it’s Dartington and through the lanes to Buckfast.  Enough of the easy stuff and time for a bit of work, we head off to Holne and Vennford eventually coming out at the top of … Read more…

Saturday Leisure Ride – 6th December

It seems like a good few weeks have passed since I last had the pleasure of leading the Leisure Ride but here we are it has come around again. I’m thinking that after a nice dry week we would simply do a repeat of my last route. Well that’s taking it the feedback was honest and everyone did enjoy the first version :). As ever I confess there are the usual hills to embrace but the last time we did this ride everyone coped just fine and anyway we will take them at a genuinely gentle pace and you will … Read more…
