Saturday Road Ride Leaders
avatar

In order for our Saturday Road Rides to take place, we need volunteers to lead. If you can lead a ride or two (or even more) that would be fantastic and we would like to hear from you. There is a page of guidance and notes to help ride leaders and new riders here. Our amazing club is run purely by volunteers. If you would like to do your bit, here’s your chance. Thank you! Below is a list of ride dates and leaders, where we have them. If you wish to volunteer please leave a note in the comments section … Read more…

Saturday “B” Road Ride – 25th April
avatar

I was going to head out over the moors this weekend, however looking at the weather forecast I don’t fancy being up there if it rains. So provided my health holds out, we will head out on my favourite ride. From B&Q car park, Plympton at 09:00 We head out to Bittaford and up under the viaduct  to South Brent and Marley Head. Across the A38 and then down towards Dartington but turning right and taking the country lanes to the Avonwick. Totnes road into Totnes for a stop at the Steamer Quay. Short and punchy climb out of Totnes going part way up Kingsbridge … Read more…

‘C’ Ride, Sat 25th. ‘Are you up for it? – a ride of two halves’
avatar

Ok, so whilst the weather is warm and the sun is out we’ll put this ride out before the weather for the weekend changes our minds!!  For those who were cycling a few years back you will remember the epic ‘Are you up for it’ Saturday ride, well this route follows that with a small part removed to keep the mileage doable for a Saturday, 85 miles in total So the two halves comes from the fact that several of us will no doubt be time bound and not be able to do the whole of this week’s route.  The … Read more…

Saturday D Road Ride – 18th April
avatar

This week’s D ride is heading to the seaside, but instead of those brave enough to head West we’ve opted to go in the other direction. Our cunning plan is to do the hard work on the way out into the headwind and then enjoy being pushed home…hmm, we’ll see! So the route will be some kind of variation on a Dartmouth loop with the plan to head out through Ermington, up the valley and California Cross before one of my favourite climbs at Gara. Then it’s Moreleigh and Dartmouth before heading for the coast and hopefully some respite from … Read more…

Saturday Leisure Ride – 18th April

Hi All, It’s probably predictable for those who know my favourite Leisure Ride route, especially when the weather is promising to be sunny!  So yes we will head to SE Cornwall and the Cliff View Cafe.  I do like to advise there are the inevitable Cornish lumps and bumps to negotiate but we will do so at an ‘enjoyable for all’ pace and anyway it’s the reaching the top that gives us all that sense of achievement. We will aim for the 10:00 am ferry so we don’t get this ride and the A Ride mixed up :).  I’ve just … Read more…

Sat 18th, YOGi ‘A’ Ride … a trip to the seaside at Seaton
avatar

Hi all, my first ‘A’ ride so treat me gently!!;)  as the title suggests we’re heading for Seaton this week

This week’s route will take us down to the Torpoint Ferry, for anyone who wishes to meet us there we will leave no earlier than the 0945 ferry.  Once in sunny Cornwall we will route past HMS Raleigh before picking up the main Trerulefoot road until we reach Anthony.  Here we will take a left and head up to Tregantle before taking the road all the way down into Millbrook, back at sea level means only one thing a short sharp climb up and over towards Kingsand and Cawsand.  We’ll actually bypass both and head up on to the stunning Rame peninsula before heading along the equally stunning clifftop past Freathy, Crafthole, descending into Downderry and then along to Seaton for our café stop.
