Saturday Road Ride Leaders

In order for our Saturday Road Rides to take place, we need volunteers to lead. If you can lead a ride or two (or even more) that would be fantastic and we would like to hear from you. Saturday 16-18 Road ride – 19th Jan

Simon will lead a 16-18 ride tomorrow.Route will be something along the lines of Callington via Gunnislake then either Seaton or Clifftop for a cafe stop before returning to base. I’ll plot a route later, plenty of options to cut short depending how bad the conditions are but think it may well be BNMCC!!

MTB – Fun/Social Ride – Sat 19 January 2019

Meeting at the usual place at 10am – Roborough Rock Carpark (Large Rock on old airfield near yelverton). We will meet there and drive to a nearby start location. Bring a change of clothes as we will go to the Burrator Inn afterwards for Lunch/Snack/Drink. Cheers John 07824505817

Saturday 12-14 Road ride – 19th Jan

Ian Roberts and possibly Steve C will be leading the 12-14 Ride this weekend. Message from Ian below Hi all, I haven’t led a ride in a long time, so please be gentle with me lol. The 12 14 will be heading to Avon Mill cafe via Ivybridge, Ermington and Loddiswell. Our return journey is via Gara Bridge, Wrangaton and Ivybridge. Distance is about 50 miles. France cycling day trip

Phil Knight is planning a day trip over to France to do some cycling, here’s his message – Hello all. I am planning a 24-hr trip to cycle around Roscoff with work colleague. Probably leisurely 50 miles or so at around 12-14mph, with several food and drink stops. Out on the overnight ferry, back the following night. 22/23 March. Cost approx £110 for 4 sharing a cabin – I need 2 more to make a group of 4. Let me know if you’re interested.

We have a joint ride lead this week, thanks to Andy and Jonthan for offering to take the ride out. His route is as follows: HQ, Alps Duex, Cadover Bridge, Yelverton, Princetown, Two Bridges, Hexworthy, Holne, Buckfastleigh (café stop at railway station), South Brent, Ivybridge – HQ. 16 – 18 Road Ride 5th January

So if there are any takers I’ll lead a 16-18 ride which will head to Totnes before turning to Buckfast and on to the moor through Holne and Vennford. We’ll stop for coffee at Foxtor in Princetown before a fast blast back to P-town. Distance will be somewhere around 55-60 miles with around 5500ft of climbing. Route will look a bit like this Coffee stop is well in to the ride so come prepared and pace will be much more 16 than 18…we might not even make that given the amount of climbing but let’s see how it goes…! 🙂 … Read more…

Happy New Year – Our first ride of another year!! Meet 10am at the usual place – Roborough Rock (Carpark by the large rock on the old airfield near to Yelverton) We will drive to a nearby start location, then ride until around 1:30-2pm. Afterwards we usually go to the Burrator Inn for Lunch/Drink/Snack, so please bring a change of clothes with you. 14-16 ride Saturday 5th Jan

Emma and myself will co-lead the ride this week. We are heading out to Kingsbridge. Tacky tours MTB Roadie Alternate ride – 5th Jan

The Inaugural Tacky Tours MTB Ride of 2019 lead by Yorkie will roll out this weekend to help Ronnie Barker break his new bike in. Plan is either Princetown and back or possibly a ride out the back of Wotter. Not too Technical but will have some miles to cover.
