This week’s route will take in every ones favourite 20% climb….Dartmeet. (don’t think we’ve been up it on a ride this year). Route as follows – Hq – Borringdon hill – Cadover – Yelverton – Princetown – Two Bridges – Dartmeet – Ashburton – Buckfastleigh stopping for a well earned break at the steam railway cafe. Then SouthBrent – Ivybridge – Plympton – HQ Distance is 50 miles and 5000ft Elevation. Comes in just under 35 miles Included is cycle past for Rebecca Pengelly as promised at about 9.30. Some cycle trail, some little back lanes and a few hills. Terry has offered to lead the ride this week. His route – Head out towards Smithaleigh then take back roads to Cornwood, Ivybridge, Wrangton loop to Ermington, cafe stop at Endsleigh Farm Shop. Then back to HQ. 30 miles about 1500 feet of climbing. Thanks for leading Terry.
With rain forecasted for Saturday we’re staying fairly local and doing a shorter ride than the last few weeks – HQ – Lee Moor – Wottor – Cadover – Yelverton – Walkhampton – Tavistock – Gulworthy – Gunnislake – Louis Tea room for cafe stop- Callington – Hatt – Saltash – Crownhill – HQ Ride distance is 45 miles with 1400 meter elevation. This week we are heading out to Launceston and stopping at the Lifton farm shop. Full route as follows – HQ – Tamar Bridge – Callington – Treburly – Launceston – Lifton. Weathers looking great again, so here’s the route for Saturday – HQ – cycle path to Clearbrook – Drakes trail to Yelverton – Road up to Princetown – we will stop at Fox Tor Cafe for refreshments, this is around 15 miles into the ride. After the cafe stop we get some pay back by descending back down to Dousland. We then do a part loop of Burrator before heading around Sheeptor Village and towards Cadover Bridge. Mike has offered to lead again this week, thanks Mike, He’s heading into Cornwall, if anyone wants to meet the ride at the Tamar Bridge, I expect the ride to arrive here around 9.40 ish. his plans – Route will be Tamar Br, Blunts, St Germans, and onto Cliff Top cafe. Return via Tregantle and Antony. About 42 miles from HQ I think. Want to be back home, showered and beers in hand for the 3pm England kick off so prompt depart from HQ preferred. Have a good ride.

HQ – Wrangaton – California Cross – Loddiswell – Kingsbridge – Salcombe – Winking Prawn for food stop. WInking Prawn – Aveton Gifford – Modbury – Yealmpton – Plympton – HQ. Mike Taylor has volunteered to lead this week, his route below – Route for the 10-12 group ride this Saturday (30th) will be up to Cliff View cafe passing thru’ Torpoint, St John, Millbrook, Maker and Kings/Cawsands. Return via Tregantle and Antony and back to Torpoint. Distance about 35 miles.

So with the Dartmoor Classic getting closer, and continuing the theme of last weeks ride, we are going to ride another part of the classic route this week. So a good bit of practice for those doing the Grande.
