Spring Sportive Centurion Training #4 – 11th April

Saturday A Road Ride – 11th April

Thanks to Yorkie for volunteering to lead this week’s “A” road ride:

Off on my favourite route out to South Brent via the usual route through Ivybridge and back roads. Might climb up under the viaduct at Bittaford.
Up to Marley Head then down the Dartington Road but will be turning off before Dartington to enter Totnes on the Avonwick Road.

Saturday 12 Road Ride – 21st March

Thanks to Bill Booth for volunteering to lead this week’s 12 Ride (the last 12 Ride before the rides get renamed!!). Bill’s plan is as follows: “I am planning to lead the 12’s on a section of the Gran Fondo route, to grow familiarity for those who have committed to it. Therefore: B&Q, Saltash, Hatt, lanes to Callington, Liskeard, Duloe, down the Looe valley to Looe and then Hessenford and through to Torpoint and back to base. Saturday Leisure Ride – 7th March

This week we’ll be riding to “Moor T” at Long Ash Garden Centre near Buckland Monachorum again because I liked it! The route will be as follows:

Meet at B&Q at 09:00 and then exit Plymouth via Plympton, Sparkwell and Cornwood. Then we’ll gradually climb up onto the Moor via Tinpark, Wotter, Cadover and Sheepstor. We may do a lap of the reservoir if everyone wants before heading to the cafe at Buckland Monachorum via Dousland and Yelverton. Read more…

Saturday Leisure Ride – 28th February

Thanks to Mike Taylor for volunteering to lead this week’s Leisure Ride. Meet at B&Q for 09:00. Mike will be heading for Noss Mayo and his route is as follows: B&Q – Ivybridge – Ermington – Battisborough Cross – Coffee stop will be at Yealmpton – Elburton – B&Q. (Let’s hope it isn’t too wet !!!)

Saturday Leisure Ride – 17th January

The Leisure Rides are ideal for anyone who is looking to try our club rides for the first time as well as those who simply want to enjoy a sociable ride. They are restricted to between 10 and 12 miles an hour over a distance of approximately 30 miles and aim to return to B&Q by 13:00. The Leisure Rides are ideal for anyone who is looking to try our club rides for the first time as well as those who simply want to enjoy a sociable ride. They are restricted to 12 miles an hour over a distance of approximately 30 miles and aim to return to B&Q by 13:00. It’s my turn to lead the Leisure Ride this week and, as everyone seemed to like it (or didn’t say otherwise!), I thought we’d use the route that we tried out the last time I led. Meet at B&Q at 09:00 and then exit Plymouth via the Ridgeway, Deep Lane, Lee Mill and the cycle path to Ivybridge. Here we’ll cross the A38 and head toward Ermington but take the left turn to Penquit. Christmas is coming so, once again, we’re opening up the ordering for YOGi club kit. If you’d like to purchase YOGi jerseys, gilets, shorts, arm warmers or jackets then follow the instructions below. Please note that there are both Road and MTB items available. Ordering is placed directly with our suppliers (Champion Systems). This will allow you to order and pay directly from their website. It’s my turn to lead this week’s Leisure Ride. As I always use the same route, I thought it would make a change if I used a different one this week. So, this week, we’ll be riding a variation of the Wrangaton/Erme Valley route: Meet at B&Q at 09:00 and then exit Plymouth via the Ridgeway, Deep Lane, Lee Mill and the cycle path to Ivybridge. Thanks to Dave Skinner for volunteering to lead this week’s Leisure Ride. These rides are intended as an introduction to riding in groups on the road and are limited to 12 mph over a distance of around 30 miles. However they are also ideal for those wishing for a shorter sociable ride that guarantees to be back by around 1PM (please remember to respect the 12mph though!) Meet at B&Q at 09:00.
