YOGi Leisure Ride – 13th September

It’s my turn to lead this ride again and I shall be taking you (more or less) on my usual Noss Mayo Route: Starting at B&Q at 09:00 we’ll head out through Plympton and Cornwood to Ivybridge and then turn right towards Ermington. From Ermington we’ll take the Yealmpton road and then turn left onto the Mothecombe and the coast road toward Noss Mayo. Saturday 12 Road Ride – 9th August

Meet at B&Q for 09:00 then head towards Yelverton (where I assume there will be an opportunity for those who want to head straight there to meet) then it’s on through Walkhampton, Horrabridge, Plasterdown and Moorshop to the climbs of Pork and Merrivale. Meet at B&Q at 09:00. From there we’ll head through Plympton and Newnham to “Les Deux Alpes”. At the top we’ll turn right and head for the Wrangaton Junction Café via Cornwood, Ivybridge and Bittaford. Read more…

Saturday 16 Road Ride – 12th July

Thanks to John Ambrose for volunteering to lead this week’s 16 ride. Here is his proposed route: Proposed ride starts at B&Q and finishes at Yelverton by 1330 for the Agm. If only a few takers may suggest we join the 14 as this day is all about fun on the bike and being social. Simon’s route will be as follows: Meet at B&Q for 09:00 – St Budeaux – Tamar Bridge (approx 09:45 for those who wish to meet there) – Carkeel – Hatt – Pillaton – Wacker Bridge – Blunts – Tideford – Trerulefoot – Hessenford – Coffee stop at Seaton (which is now open) – Downderry – Antony – Torpoint Ferry and back to Plympton.

Dartmoor Classic Photos

Well done to all those who took part in yesterday’s Dartmoor Classic!!

It was good to see so many of you still smiling as you made your way up the hill after the Warren House Inn and through the unofficial YOGi Cycling “encouragement and refreshment checkpoint”. It was here that (while stocks lasted) encouragement, jelly babies/beans and a cooling down were on offer to those that needed it – not just YOGi’s! Read more…

This week, at the risk of getting repetitive, I’m going to repeat the last leisure ride that I led to Noss Mayo. It was four week’s ago and I know it hasn’t been used by the leisure ride in the meantime so I hope you’re all ok with that? Saturday 16B Road Ride – 24th May

Here are John’s words: This week’s ride is the one I cancelled a few weeks ago due to the weather and numbers, this route is 80 miles with 2250m of climbing. Cafe stop is at 50 miles half way up Haytor. I have not included a strava map this time as the route is easy to follow on well known roads. This week we’re going to ride a variation of the Noss Mayo route that was used on one of the first Leisure Rides but we’re going to skip Noss Mayo! Starting at B&Q at 09:00 we’ll head out through Plympton to Ivybridge and then turn right towards Ermington. This week we’ll be heading North for a change and our destination will be Bob’s Café in the Pannier Market, Tavistock. From B&Q we’ll head for Newnham and over the climbs of Les Deux Alpes (which you all enjoyed a few weeks ago) up onto Lee Moor.
