This week’s ride will see us make the most of the last of the sunshine and dry weather. We will be visiting the beach so we are off to Cornwall. Leaving B&Q, we will head to the Torpoint ferry – leaving at 9:45. We will then ride through our usual route to come to our cafe stop at Seaton, See you all tomorrow Lynda
The C ride will head up the cycle track to Yelverton then past Burrator (lap), up Peak Hill, Prince town, down Pork Hill and Merrivale and onto Tavistock for our cafe stop at BOB’s. Then we will head to Yelverton for the AGM.
It is that time of year again that we all gather for our AGM. Don’t be mistaken, this is not a boring meeting. It is an opportunity for us all to meet after our rides and enjoy some food and a few drinks while dealing with some minor business. the weather forecast isn’t looking too good for tomorrow but let’s be optimistic- I’ve planned a route which will allow us to shorten/ lengthen route as the weather permits. We will head from B&Q, ivybridge, ermington California cross, loddiswell for our coffee stop. ( may alter in morning if weather is kinder and go onto kingsbridge. )
This weeks 14 ride will be led by myself and will see us visit an old faithful route. We will be heading to Loddiswell. Route: B+Q, Plympton, Ivybridge, Wrangaton, california Cross and onto Loddiswell. There are options for people who may want to cut it short at California Cross and also the option to extend the ride beyond the cafe stop if motivation and weather is with us. The first aid training has been booked for 18 members. It will be held at Lipson Co-operative Academy in Plymouth and will run from 6-9.30pm. Refreshments will be provided. The list of participants is below. I STILL HAVE 3 PLACES LEFT SO IF INTERESTED – LET ME KNOW The training will look at how to deal with scenarios roadies can encounter whilst on a ride. Having 18 people from all abilities trained will ensure we have someone to help deal with an accident if it occurs. Hopefully we won’t get the weather that is currently being forecast but to be on the safe side please check this post in the morning to ensure we run the ride. Ride route (if weather ok) with a few alternative ways depending on weather. B+Q, Plympton, Ivybridge, Wrangaton – and here we will decide upon Dartington/Totnes or Buckfast (if we’re not too wet)
This week’s ride will see us go to Loddiswell and will be led by me. We will leave B&Q , through Plympton, Ivybridge, California Cross, Loddiswell to the cafe at the Avon Mill Garden Centre where Xmas refreshments are being served. Total mileage: 45 miles – plenty of time to get back and all glammed up for the Xmas party. Weather: looking OK at the minute. Cake: plenty Coffee: wet

As many of our members will be participating in the tour of Britain ride, I will leading this weeks ride for the remaining 12 and 14 riders from B&Q as usual. However, if this is a really large crowd then we may split into groups. We will leave B&Q at the usual time and head on a new route to Bovey Tracey where I believe a new cafe has opened that has not had the pleasure of welcoming us YOGis yet. This week’s ride will be led by Steve Sendall and is as follows: Hi Lynda I will lead the 12 ride Saturday With the TOB ride coming up next month a bit of training is needed! So we’re off to Louis Tea Rooms at Kit Hill. Leave B&Q, Col de Colebrook, Cadover, Yelverton for 10:15. The descent down to Denham Bridge and up that lovely climb, Gulworthy drop down over the Tamar and then up Gunny Hill and on to the cafe stop. Callington, the back road to Hatt, Saltash, bridge, Crownhill, B&Q. Distance about 45 miles.
