Road Rides Forum – Friday 5th September

Hi All, A date for your diaries! We are holding a ‘Road Rides’ forum on Friday 5th April, at the ELM Centre, Estover (near Asda), commencing at 7pm. We have not held one of these since Bryan and Becky’s last one, so long overdue. Agenda is: -Show a group Riding techniques Video and discuss -Agree a response when either individually or a group ride we experience any form of intimidation (basically a blank piece of paper discussion so everybody’s input appreciated!). Andy Burch is trying to encourage a member of the police along and if so this subject will be … Read more…

Saturday 16th March Road Rides Cancelled

Hi all, having swapped a few messages, we are cancelling all club road rides for tomorrow now because the forecast is virtually certain it’s going to be a severe storm day from the outset. March hasn’t been cycling friendly yet as it! Still in like a Lion out like a Lamb so tradition says! Simon at least plans to take a ride out on Sunday which is expected to be a better day. Anyone else who wants to do so please post accordingly. It will of course be considered an official club ride for insurance purposes. Should however the forecast … Read more…

Saturday Pre Christmas Festive MTB and Road Rides 23rd December

Hi All, This Saturday is our traditional  pre Christmas Festive Rides day and so will end with a social meet at the Burrator Inn.  Great if you decorate your bike and/or wear your Christmas Jumpers/Santa hats.  Nothing is booked other than the staff advised we estimate numbers of circa 35 – 40 in number. I have given the weather caveat but it would be sensible that IF YOU WANT TO EAT then you indicate so by commenting on our FB page or Web site (this isn’t a commitment). If by Friday lunch then if it looks like the estimate is … Read more…

Hi All, Its YOGi AGM time again and hence the start of our 8th year as an affiliated club and (we think!) 31st of our existence. Truth is it was all so informal in those early days non of us can be certain. Anyway this year the venue is Roborough Village Hall, Roborough. All road rides will pass the venue en-route, that way anyone who wants to can leave warm/dry clothes for post ride comfort or even join your preferred ride there too. By the way if you choose to drive we advise parking on the road that bisects Roborough village, … Read more…

Note Change of Route – Leisure Road Ride – Saturday 16th June

Hi All As the original route is a poor choice in wet weather, we will save that for a suny day and head to Lopwell Dam. I wasn’t expecting the weather gods to decide our Saturday was a good day to take a break from being sunny😄😄 or should that be 😩! So all meet at Coypool as usual please👍 I’ve not been around for a Saturday ride for a while so looking forward this and to seeing some new and regular riders on this my very fav’ 30 mile route.
