We are still in need of a 12-14 and 16-18 Ride leader tomorrow. These rides will proceed as planned and both a leader / route can be determined on the morning should we not have anyone come forward in advance.
Kev Trevorrow is the main man this weekend, leading the 14-16 ride out to; Bovey Tracey, Teign Valley, Moretonhampstead, COFFEE (Cafe location tbc) Back to Bovey, Ivybridge, Erme Valley, Ermington and back. Probably 65 miles
Hi All As the original route is a poor choice in wet weather, we will save that for a suny day and head to Lopwell Dam. I wasn’t expecting the weather gods to decide our Saturday was a good day to take a break from being sunny😄😄 or should that be 😩! So all meet at Coypool as usual please👍 I’ve not been around for a Saturday ride for a while so looking forward this and to seeing some new and regular riders on this my very fav’ 30 mile route.
***DATE TBC*** Onto Round 3 which will be on Tuesday 19th June at 7pm. This will again be a 3up Team Time Trial event using course S19/16S. This starts at HMS Raleigh and heads up to Trerulefoot Roundabout and back again. Going through Anthony, Sheviock and Polbathic. With the finishing point at the entrance of Anthony House. So with the Dartmoor Classic getting closer, and continuing the theme of last weeks ride, we are going to ride another part of the classic route this week. So a good bit of practice for those doing the Grande. Route will be – HQ – Borringdon Hill – Cadover – Yelverton – Tavistock – Chillaton – Lydford – At Lydford Gorge we are stopping at the Waterfall Tea room, (this is the next cafe on from the cafe inside the Lydford Gorge national trust entrance). Myself and David Mitchell are leading this weeks 16-18. I’ll be part leading and aim to be back home for 12 (i’m out from 7am if anyone wants to join me) whereas David will then take over once I’ve left. With this in mind, thinking of a local South Hams Loop. Perhaps out to Dartmouth via Elburton, Yealmpton and Modbury. Back lanes to Cali Cross. Climb up Gara Bridge and out past Woodlands Park. Mike Taylor is the man with the plan this weekend; Leisure ride route for Sat 2 Jun will be Marsh Mills out to Lee Mill, Cornwood, Dragon Hill, Beatland Corner, Cadover to Yelverton. Coffee stop at Long Ash and return along Roborough Down (those not wanting to chance this road can return down the cycle path to Coypool). Distance about 35 miles.
Justin Cartright is leading the ride this week. His plan is to do some of the Dartmoor Classic route. Another training route for the Classic. Kevin has offered to lead this week, he has two options – 1 Noss Mayo loop or 2 Rame Head loop. he’s thinking he may do option 1. Can confirm at HQ in the morning. both around 30 to 35 miles at the above ride pace. Thanks for leading Kev. Andy
David has offered to lead again this week, his plan – Hi guys! I’m thinking of leading the 16-18 ride tomorrow doing a route from HQ probably up the cycle path to Yelverton, Princetown, Moretonhampstead, Ashburton and back somehow to HQ 😂 route I believe is about 68.9 miles! If anyone has a suggestion for cafe stop in Morton that would be appreciated! Have a good ride.

Just to confirm this ride will take place. Route will be either SE Cornwall via Torpoint – St John – Cawsand – Whitsand Bay (cafe stop at The Cliff View) Tregantle Fort – Anthony – Torpoint – Coypool/Home 30 Miles or Leigham, Tamerton Foliot – Lopwell – Milton Coombe – Yelverton )cafe stop) Plym Valley – Coypool/Home – If lowish numbers likely reverse direction and have our cafe stop at the Pump House, Lopwell! 25 Miles We will choose at the ride start via the good ole democratic process. Looking froward to riding with whoever joins the ride.
Mike Gould has kindly offered to lead this ride on Saturday, his route – Out to Kingsbridge via Ivybridge, California cross, Gara bridge and back via Aveton Gifford, Modbury and Brixton or something like that! Around 50 miles. have a good ride.
Emma and myself are co-leading this week. Emma thought it would be good to ride out to and up Haytor this week, so this is our planned route – HQ – Ivybridge – South Brent – Buckfastleigh – Ashburton – Heathfield – Bovey Tracey. We will stop here for refreshments (and to rest the legs) before tackling the Haytor climb, stop will be at either Cafe 360 or Cafe 64 depending on the size of the group.
