Fun/Social MTB Ride – Sat 6 October 2018

It’s the 1st Saturday of the month MTB Social Ride. We will meet 10am at the usual place – Carpark by Roborough Rock (Large rock on the old Airfield near Yelverton), Then drive on to a nearby starting point. It’s best to bring a change of clothes as we usually go to the Burrator Inn for Lunch/Snack/Drink afterwards if you wish. 12-14 ride Saturday 6th October

Dan Richmond has volunteered to lead again this week. Here’s his words – If there’s no other takers I’m happy to take a 12-14 to Steamer Quay (Narnia) – via Marley Head and back via Avonwick. Depending on numbers/weather and unless anyone else has any other ideas. Many thanks for leading Dan.

YOGi Cycling Christmas Party 2018 Please note that the venue has changed – we are now using the Fort again like last year, so there are now just 100 tickets for sale in total, so please book early to avoid missing out. Due to the success of last we have re-booked the same venue again at the historic Crownhill Fort. We have exclusive use of the Main Magazine Bar / function room. 14-16 ride Saturday 6th October

Phil Knight is leading the above ride this week. His plans below – Several members are away or at the Land’s End sportive so for anyone left at home I will lead a 14-16 route along the well known lanes to Seaton, via Torpoint, Millbrook, Cawsand, Downderry, cafe stop Seaton Beach, then home via Hesenford, Polbathic, Sheviock and Torpoint. 47 miles, 4000ft. Meet at Torpoint ferry at around 0930 if you prefer. Phil Knight

14-16 ride Saturday 29th Sept

Emma has kindly offered to lead this ride. The plan is to head out to Blackpool Sands and back via Kingsbridge. Alternative Start location ride – 29th Sept

If anyone fancies an away day ride on Saturday. Peter Moss is willing to lead, starting from Callington free car park out to Lydford via Gunnislake and Brentor to Lift on Strawberry Fields for coffee and cake. Return via Launceston and then back roads to Callington. All in all 55 miles ish with a few climbs along the way. Leaving Callington at 9am 12/14 pace approx

14-16 AGM ride Saturday 15th Sept

Here’s my plan for a route to get us all back to the AGM for around 12.30 – 9am at HQ – Leigham – Roborough Village Hall for around 9.30 to pick up anyone here- Bickleigh – Shaugh Prior – Cadover – Yelverton – Princetown – Merrivale – Pork – Tavistock. We will stop and Bob’s for coffee and cake. Then its on to Whitchurch – (taking a left up Church Hill) -Sampford Spiney – Walkhampton – Dousland – Yelverton -Roborough. Alternative early doors 16-18 Ride – 15th Sept

Alternative early doors fondo ride this Saturday (15th Sept). Meet at YOGi HQ at 7am. Ride: Anticlockwise Moors loop (Buckfastleigh – Holne – Princetown – Tavistock – Home) Pace 16mph+ Distance 65 miles We aim to be back in Plympton/Plymstock for 11am so we tend not to stop at cafes. Those that want to enjoy a cafe stop can do so at the end at Rockets on the Barbican.
