Last Saturday we had a great turnout of 14 riders and 1 dog in perfect weather. We started from Cadover bridge, heading up onto the moor. This video shot by Windy was just a small part at the start of the route but gives a bit of a feel for what our MTB rides are like. Hopefully it will be the first of many.
We have an extra ride this Sunday for the Fun/Adventure level riders. Start at carpark just south of Woodbury castle, east of Woodbury village, which is just SE of Exeter. For those of you that have FB then check the Yogi Cycling MTB posts. Will likely stop at a pub for lunch mid ride if weather permits. Meet at South Brent Carpark @ 1000hrs.
This Saturday we will be riding as normal, but as it’s going to be hot and Sunny 🙂 we thought we should find somewhere with water for the odd swim or two, so we’ll Meet at South Brent (the old Railway car park, like we’ve used before) and ride up to the Avon Dam (Swim Stop, Dam jumping) and right up onto the moor. Some great descents plus the usual banter and jelly snakes!
Might be worth bringing some sandwiches/snacks, plenty of water and some swimming togs! Read more…

Firstly, we can’t guarantee a formal ride on every Sunday as, like the Saturday Rides, they rely on someone to volunteer as leader. I’m happy to lead on the Sundays that I’m available but I also like to ride on Saturdays and can’t always do both. If anyone would like to volunteer to lead one then please let us know and we’ll post it!
On arrival at B&Q I realised that the later start time of 10:00 was not necessarily a good thing! It was incredibly hot down there already and I’d turned up early for a change too so had to swelter away until Holly turned up with yet another tyre problem to take my mind off the heat! Read more…

The last time I led it the weather turned out so bad that only a handful of us completed the whole route! This time the weather forecast could have easily gone that way too but luckily it didn’t. The strong winds would be … Read more…
