Saturday Leisure Ride – 20th December

The Leisure Rides are ideal for anyone who is looking to try our club rides for the first time as well as those who simply want to enjoy a sociable ride. They are restricted to 12 miles an hour over a distance of approximately 30 miles and aim to return to B&Q by 13:00.

You may have seen that the other rides are planning to rendezvous at the Burrator Inn at 13:00 for some festive refreshments. This will be too late for our cafe stop but if any Leisure Riders wish to join them, there will be time to drive there from B&Q afterwards (or even ride up the cycle path!).

Meet at B&Q at 09:00 and then exit Plymouth via the Ridgeway, Deep Lane, Lee Mill and the cycle path to Ivybridge. Here we’ll cross the A38 and head toward Ermington but take the left turn to Penquit. From Penquit we’ll cross the Erme valley and ride up the hill to take the Ridge Road to the top of the Erme Valley and Kittaford Cross where we’ll head for the Junction Cafe at Wrangaton.

After the cafe stop we’ll head back for Plymouth via Ivybridge and Cornwood but with a slightly different route via Langage, Venton and Sparkwell.

The distance is approximately 31 miles and the cafe stop is at the 16 mile point.

Thanks for the lovely ride Graham 🙂 Sorry I didn’t make it to the pub Steve, by the time I got to the Bickleigh turn-off I was pretty tired and the thought of cycling to Burrator was a bit much. Next year…
