Summer Series Round 1 – Results

Well done to 18 brave YOGi’s who took part in round 1 of our exciting Summer Series, most were entering a ‘race of truth’ for the very first time and we salute you all! Great to see the YOGi spirit shown by all who took part and irrespective of times and results lots of encouragement for fellow riders with smiles and cheers for everyone at the end. MTB Fun/Social Ride – Saturday 1st August

For the ‘1st Saturday of the month’ ride this month we will be meeting at Newbridge Carpark, River Dart, Near Ashburton (I say we, I mean everyone else but me, since I’m still unable incapacitated 🙁  Iain Smith is standing in and leading the ride. MTB – Bike Motion Bash – Off Road Cycle Sportive

If you fancy an Off road Sportive towards the east of Devon, then this might be of interest.. Bike Motion are proud to announce the second edition of the Bike Motion Bash mountain bike event in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust! Taking place on Sunday the 24th May 2015, the event starts and finishes at Bicton Arena and takes in woodbury common and surrounding area. MTB Fun/Social Ride – Sat 21st March 2015

The MTB Fun/Social ride will effectively merge with the YHA Weekend Saturday ride starting at Belliver Youth Hostel at 10:30am Saturday 21st March. this is open to all regular Fun/Social riders, plus the Wayne’s World and Early Bees rides. Note that as this ride is an all day ride and therefore around twice the duration/distance of the normal Fun rides, we  therefore politely ask that only members that have previously ridden with us, and therefore know what to expect in terms of fitness and duration etc, attend this particular ride. Velodrome Trip – Sunday 8th March

There are still a few places available so not too late to book! We leave B&Q Marsh Mills at 10:30 and will aim to be back around 9-9.30p.m I have cleats with me for those that have asked for them. Newport Velodrome Trip – 8th March

Now here’s a date for your diaries – On Sunday the 8th March we are planning a trip to the Velodrome at Newport. 😀 Velodrome and coaches are booked, just finalising the last details and will post a full update after the committee meeting next week so get those passes booked now! MTB Duathlon – XC Race & Cross Country Run – Stinger – Newnham Park

Don’t forget the Stinger event is this Sunday 16th Nov at Newnham Park Either enter or come and support Yogi members that are putting themselves through the mill! So this is what you’ve all been waiting for…details of this year’s Tour of Britain club ride on Saturday the 13th September. 🙂 It’s a long post so stick with me!!  While not a sportive the route will be fully signed and we’ll have 3 feedstops for you with proper food and water to keep you going, as well as plenty of YOGi banter and support! Getting ready for Winter – Soggy Bottoms and Stingers

The longest day has been and gone, so it’s time to get ready for winter!
Plymouth’s XC scene will be busy again this winter with 2 doses of The Stinger Duathlon and 3 rounds of the Soggy Bottom Series at Newnham Park.
We’ve moved the Soggy Series back a little, to avoid clashing with the cyclocross season. All three Soggy Bottom rounds will take place in early 2015.

MTB Fun Ride – Saturday 21st Sept – Postbridge

Meet at Postbridge Car park @ 10:15 am.  We’ll be out for about 3-4hrs, so maybe worth bringing a sandwich or two. The forecast is not bad with light winds, so we’ll head up towards Hamel down for the long descent, or stay lower in the woods if the weather looks worse than predicted.
