So with the weather looking pretty bad for tomorrow but much better on Sunday just in time for the Nationals Hill Climb at Haytor how about a ride out to see some of the action?
Meeting at The George Roborough – opposite the park and ride at 9am we’ll ride across the moors via Princetown and either Widdecombe or Jay’s Grave and drop in on the action. We should get to Haytor around 11-11:30 but with 180 riders setting off at minute intervals there will be plenty of people to cheer on!!
We’ll lay on some simple refreshments at Haytor to keep everyone warm and happy (ok, so not promising on either of those!!) and we can drop down to Cafe 360 whenever for a bite of lunch before riding back via Ashburton and Ivybridge.
Pace will be at 14+ and we’ll look to stick together or re-group as needed so no-one gets left behind. Distance is around 30 miles each way and it promises to be a great day, and I’m sure there will be a bit of Rugby and Devon Derby banter to boot!
Hopefully see a few people there, be great to get some indication of numbers so we have an idea how much coffee and cake to bring so post below if you’re a definite but not a problem if you just pitch up on the day.
Note the start venue…The George, Roborough… 🙂
