MTB fun/social day ride – Bodmin Moor, Saturday 19th March 2016
Start and meet at a 10:15am at small Carpark where the red flag is on this map – see images below. It’s just as you see the moorland open up below Caradon Hill (it’s the one with the huge TV masts!! A38 to Liskeard, then follow signs to Pensilva, towards TV masts, park on left as you drive onto moorland.
We will take be riding on Bodmin Moor taking in the Cheese ring quarry, Trewortha and Caradon Hill area.
It’s a decent length ride so expect to be out for about 4-5hrs with a lunch stop so bring some lunch and plenty of water.
Oh and maybe some trunks as there is a quarry with an awesome cliff jump and swimming for adventurous.
If there isn’t enough parking there we may have to move up to the main Carpark higher north marked on the map as this one is sometimes used by the local model flying club.
There will be about 3Km on back lanes (tried hard to find a way round but it’s either that or battling barbed wire/angry farmers/ and ancient swamp/followed by 300m of knee deep brash).
Been waiting for good dry weather for this one
