Hi All,
Mainly through my employers charity work I have volunteered to be one of the Plymouth Half Marathon ‘Sweep Cyclist’s’. Taking it that as this is likely Plymouth’s biggest charity event each year I could easily find another few volunteers from our YOGi Ranks I volunteered to do so.
It is simply a case of doing this:-
Sweep Cyclist (4 to 6 Riders Required)
– As a Sweep Cyclists you will travel behind the last participant at the back of the race
– You will keep in regular radio communication with the ‘event control’ room to update as to the location of the last runner
– Offering encouragement to those runners at the back is also important in this role
You will need to complete a simple ‘Volunteers Form’ which I will forward to the first four/five volunteers (I’m not a fan of first come first served but we have a very short turn round time so my apologies!) so if you would like to help please let me know using my work e-mail steve.clare@utas.utc.com and I will send you the form. I have been asked to ensure these completed forms are e-mailed back by Friday 4th March so a quick response required please.
I am hoping that though we will no doubt be wearing official marshal high viz vest’s there will still be scope for showing our YOGi colours!
It will be a very slow ride 🙂
Thanks in anticipation.
