Hi all, my first ‘A’ ride so treat me gently!!;) as the title suggests we’re heading for Seaton this week
This week’s route will take us down to the Torpoint Ferry, for anyone who wishes to meet us there we will leave no earlier than the 0945 ferry. Once in sunny Cornwall we will route past HMS Raleigh before picking up the main Trerulefoot road until we reach Anthony. Here we will take a left and head up to Tregantle before taking the road all the way down into Millbrook, back at sea level means only one thing a short sharp climb up and over towards Kingsand and Cawsand. We’ll actually bypass both and head up on to the stunning Rame peninsula before heading along the equally stunning clifftop past Freathy, Crafthole, descending into Downderry and then along to Seaton for our café stop.
Replenished, our route back allows a gentle warm up along the river valley to Hessenford where we take a right and a fairly long climb up out of the valley before joining the Torpoint road from Trerulefoot. Once on this road we’ll stay on it all the way into Torpoint and the ferry. Forecast at the moment is an easterly wind so hopefully being on the main road in the valley will protect us to a degree! … fingers crossed!
After the ferry for those who don’t head straight off home the route is a reverse back to Marsh Mills, for anyone who wishes we can take a late social stop at Rockets and Rascals on the way back through town.
Total distance is just over 45 miles with 3,500ft of climbing. Full route can be found by clicking here
Forecast at the moment is dry with an easterly ‘breeze’!!
