Saturday ‘12’ Road Ride – 18th August

This week’s ride will be led by Ski, who has chosen a trip across the Cornish border!  As usual meet Coypool @09:00 in the bottom car park to the right of B&Q (as you face the store!).

Actual route is;  Cattedown – Barbican – Torpoint Ferry – St John – Millbrook – Maker – Cawsand – Whitsand Bay (cafe stop at the lovely Cliff View cafe) – Tregantle  – here there is the usual option of taking either the shorter route home via Anthony – Torpoint – Plymouth.  Around 35 miles and famed for its many short but sharp climbs.

Or the approx 8 miles longer option of:-

Crafthole (maybe an opportunity to detour to Portwrinkle and tackle the only 1:3 climb around our neck of the woods?) – Polbathic – Anthony – Torpoint.  Also famed for even more short and sharp climbs!

Usual (and sensible!) routine is to agree who is doing what at the cafe stop.  The influencing factors are the size/amounts of home-made cakes eaten and the weather conditions!

The usual plea;  This is our slowest Saturday ride so to ensure everyone elses enjoyment please be sure you are able to ride at this pace.  If you are unsure, best first try one of our  Wed ’10’ rides and we will advise you of your level.

Everyone is expected to do their bit to make life easy for the ride leader, keeping the group together, riding safely and showing respect to other road users.
