Saturday 14 Ride, 15th Nov …wet and wild to Seaton?

Well, forecast shows we could have a bit of sun, a bit of a breeze, bit of water and maybe the odd roll of thunder and flash of lightning – perfect for a day trip to the coast!

This week we’ll be heading to the café at Seaton, slightly different route though with the standard start to the ferry …and yes any late risers we’ll be on the 09:45 if all goes to plan so meet us there.  Once in Torpoint we’ll head out past Raleigh before heading on the Trerulefoot road out to Anthony and the climb up to Tregantle.  Here we’ll take a left and follow the main road towards Millbrook and round into Kingsand before picking up Military road out past Freathy (no sneaky stops!) and back to Tregantle.  Here we head along the coast road all the way into Seaton and our cafe stop.  It’s 26 miles to the café from our start so a couple of hours riding time plus the ferry trip.

Post the stop we’ll head along the river valley to Hessenford and then the short (!) climb before joining the main Torpoint road back to the ferry (in nice orderly fashion!).  After the ferry no doubt it’ll be a bomb burst but for those who wish to partake a stop at Rockets and Rascals may well be in order 🙂

Total mileage is just under 50 miles however if the weather isn’t to our liking then the Kingsand loop may be missed subject to a quick group democratic decision.
