Well as it’s Easter and the weather is looking dry…keep your fingers crossed! as we are going to ride the 100Km route of the St Lukes ‘Moonlit Cycle’ ( for detail click here )
The route will head out to the Rame peninsula via the Torpoint Ferry, we will not leave before 0945 for those who wish to meet us there. The route heads out past HMS Raleigh before following the well know, St Johns, Kingsand Cawsand loop and up past Freathy, Tregantle and on to Crafthole. Here we head down to the main road and then on through Hessenford and up to Widegates before a right and a fast descent to the river valley and then a treat – a nice climb up to Duloe! 🙂 After Duloe the speed will pick up as we head over to Dobwalls and then due South and the drop into Looe where we will take our café stop. Please note this is a good 45 miles from the ferry into the ride so make sure you carry some food and enough fluids to get you there.
After our café stop we’ll head back up the climb to Widegates (the normal route being closed 🙁 ) and then down to Hessenford and into Seaton. From Seaton we’ll climb up through Downderry on to the cliff top and a blast back to Tregantle and then into Torpoint and the ferry.
The Moonlit Cycle route is 61 miles with 5,000 ft of climbing, and starts and ends in Torpoint, for those starting and finishing this Saturday at Marsh Mills the ride will clearly be a bit longer. Please ensure you carry enough food and fluids for this ride.
Full route can be found here please note this only shows the Torpoint to Torpoint section…we will start and finish our ride as always at Marsh Mills B&Q.
