Ok, after a two month lay off the only way guaranteed to get me back out was to take the plunge and lead the ride….commitment! had a quick look at the forecast for this weekend; dry relatively warm with a westerly wind, what better time to head east over the moor to get a bit of a push up to Princetown!
Route this week will take us up the cycle path to Yelverton, perfect for a 10 depart from there for all those voting for a later start in the winter, meet us in the Church car park 🙂 From here it’s the direct route up to Princetown before heading past Two Bridges and on to the Dartmeet route, however we’ll take the right and head up towards and past Venford reservoir before heading down Holne and towards Ashburton and the Dartmoor Lodge, no stopping mind as we hang a right and carry on to the Buckfast railway café, that’s at 30 miles in.
Post coffee and cake it’s the normal route back in to Plymouth via South Brent, Ivybridge and the Ridgeway. Total distance is 49 miles, with a few cheeky climbs up and past Venford. Only 20 miles back to Plymouth post the café stop but be warned it’s forecast to be into the wind….a bit of teamwork may be needed! 😉

See you all on Saturday
