This weeks ride will be led by myself, Simon Pope and James Thompson. As most of you are aware we are also running a century ride alongside this week’s ’14’ ride, the full route for the century ride is here
If you are planning to ride a normal ’14’ ride then you will ride with us exactly as a usual 14 ride, the route will be out to Buckfastleigh via Cornwood, Ivybridge, South Brent and then up to Holne, past Venford Res and on to the Foxtor for our cafe stop, this is after approx’ 38 miles. At this point you have the choice of continuing the rest of the century ride…or part – as there are many choices where you can cut short and head for home, or heading straight back to Plymouth via Peek Hill, Roborough Down and home. This route will be a total of about 60 miles.
For those who are wondering if they could extend and complete a first century ride, then please be assured that we intend to get everyone around this ride that wishes to try, it is an ideal opportunity to try your first 100 🙂
As with all ’14’ rides we intend to average 14 over the full distance, for the stronger riders we may well call on you to help in this ride……please don’t be shy in offering your support on the day
We have the benefit on this ride of a support car and first aid support, so should anyone struggle we have the facility to get you home…..just in case!!!
Please ensure you are smiling all day as we will also be taking lots of photos
Saturday’s ride will also get a mention this Friday morning on ‘Sparks’ BBC Radio Devon show, when Simon, James and myself will be interviewed live on air about our upcoming Tour de Force challenge, this ride and the ‘Are you up for it’ ? weekend being part of the event’s, and ours, build up. Tune in from 07:30 if you’re up and would like to listen in
Fingers crossed for the weather this weekend all….going to be a great ride whichever distance you choose 🙂
