Saturday 14 Road Ride – 6th July

Hi all,

I’ve heard of a hill that they say is so steep the sheep have shorter legs at the front to walk up it. It makes the Coffin Stone look like a sprinters stage of the Tour De France. Yes it is the hill of legends, Widecombe in the Moor.
From our usual start point B&Q car park, Plympton 09:00 we head along the cycle track (very social) to Yelverton. After picking up the late risers we head to Princetown and onto just past Postbridge. Next A right turn towards Widdecombe, here will have our cafe stop before taking on the climb out (who wants to climb on warm legs). After that climb your just reward is an amazing descent down Pear Treeeeeeee. The return journey takes back through Bucky, Ivybridge and Lee Mill. Distance 58 miles.
