This week the Saturday 14 will start at the usual place of B&Q Coypool, but we will also pick up via the Miners Arms, Hemerdon, please read below.
For those wishing to park at the pub prior to the AGM, please ride down and meet the Saturday 14 for 9.15am at the junction of the bottom of Boringdon Hill.
Note: There will be no cafe stop en route this weekend -sob sob. So do make sure you have enough food and drink with you to prevent you being in danger of keeling over on your bike. We don’t want to be picking any YOGi riff raff out of the hedge! 😉
This week Gary Walsh is your ride leader and he has some ‘Pre-Dartmoor Classic’ hills in store for you lucky people! 🙂
We will head out through Plympton and go up Borringdon Hill and through Cadover on to Yelverton. If anyone wishes to join at Yelverton please aim to be there for 10:00am for a prompt pickup. From Yelverton we will head towards Horrabridge on the A386. We will turn right and drop down through Horrabridge, taking Whitchurch Road into Tavistock. Once in Tavistock we will head out towards Horsebridge via Crease Lane. After passing through Horsebridge we head on towards Luckett, taking a sharp right in the village we head along the valley and then take the winding climb up and over Kit Hill. After the delights of Kit Hill, we drop into Callington Newbridge, taking a sharp left at the bottom of the fast decent we climb back up towards Pillaton. From here we head out towards Cargreen and come back in through Botus Fleming via a nice 25% climb (Ziggarson Hill). We next hit Saltash and cross the Tamar Bridge coming back along Crownhill road and on to the Miners Arms – Hemerdon. Total ride distance will be 47 miles but we may have to alter the return leg depending on time.
So meet at either 9am B&Q Coypool (far end), the junction at the bottom of Boringdon hill at 9.15am or Yelverton at 10am. What choice!! What service!!
As usual have fun on the bike!
