This weeks 16 will be a “bridging ride” and will be at relatively easy pace. I don’t know what the average will be, but the ride will be at pace suitable for those who are close to riding with the 16’s, but who have not wanted to take on the difficulty of recent 16 rides. I will follow the pace set by the riders who come along and we can all be aware of the front and back of the group. Should be fine!
From our usual starting place B&Q 9am, we make our way over to the Tamar bridge and then warm up our legs with the climbs through Hatt and Pillington. At Callington we turn left to climb up to Caradon Mast to look at the views. From here it is a descent to Liskeard and then, rather than taking the lumpy route over to Looe, we skirt round via Pelynt. Due to road closures it’s the long way round to Seaton and then it’s the coastal road to Torpoint. Choice of cafe stop is Caradon Mast at 25 miles or Seaton at 50 miles or there is Looe at 45 miles (not sure if there is anywhere suitable in Looe).
Distance from B&Q to Torpoint ferry is about 62 miles with a fair bit of climbing .
