Saturday ‘16’ Road Ride – 25th August

Hi all,

On the 15th Sept the Tour of Britain is coming our way and I thought that this week you might want a little taste of the route. I can’t offer any support cars or press helicopters, but I can offer a few cheeky climbs, so dig out your fake sideburns and live the dream……..

From our usual start point – B&Q car park at Plympton at 9:00am – we will make our way to Roborough via Plymbridge then, just past the green café, we will drop in behind the Downs to get to Horrabridge. From here we will take the Whitchurch Road to Tavy where we will start the part of the Tour, climbing Pork And Merrivale to Princetown. Next we’ll head out to Dartmeet to do the dreaded KOM Coffin Stone. Your reward for doing that evil climb is you’ll get to descend Poundsgate to Ashburton. Following a well-deserved café  stop at the Dartmoor Lodge we will make our way home via Buckfastleigh and South Brent back to Plympton. Ride distance 65 miles.
