Launceston Love In
Actually by the time we get to Launceston I expect we’ll be broken and battered so more of a sit in than a love in and have you seen the usual 16 culprits anyway…enough said! And that’s where the references to Valentines Day stop! 🙂
So to keep Adrian happy (he wants to see the moor) and me happy (I don’t fancy a headwind on the way home) the plan should we stick to it, is to head out through Deux Alpes, Meavy and Dousland and up Peek Hill to Princetown. From here we’ll do Merrivale and Pork the easy way before turning right down over Batteridge to Harford Bridge. Then it’s on to the A386 and out to Sourton Cross where we pick up the old A30, although if the 386 is unpleasantly busy we might cut across from Mary Tavy and through Lydford and Bridestowe. Then it’s all the L’s – Lewdown, Lewtrenchard, Lifton, Launceston and hopefully not lost. Stopping at our favourite greasy spoon – The Pie Stop cafe for a loaf and a latte (milky coffee, still makes me laugh!!). Then it’s the usual way home through South Petherwin, Coads Green, Callington, Saltash and back across the city to base.
It’s a relatively long ride but there are options to shorten it if anyone needs to, err, save their energy for later. We can cut out the Princetown dog-leg or cut across through Chillaton, happy to go with the flow. Cafe is around 50 miles in so be prepared in case we do the full route which can be found here
Pace WILL be steady according to the riders who are out. It’d be great to see some new faces if anyone fancies it, you’ll be made very welcome and will be well looked after in true YOGi style by our small but perfectly formed group!
Hope to see you there for more fun on the bike (I miss Rachel)!! 🙂
