Group B Ride:
Led by Andy Everett
Hi guys, we are increasing the mileage this week, however not the pace… but hopefully no stopping – I hate stopping.
From B&Q we head towards Plymouth along the embankment then turn off towards Elburton, we will keep on the A379 through Brixton and Yealmpton and then at Ermington we shall head towards Ivybridge. From Ivybridge we shall climb up to Cornwood and then onto Yelverton, Horrabridge and the back road to Tavistock where we will have our Cafe stop. Then we shall ride the Lydford Gorge loop and head up to Princetown (this loop is the extra that is added to make the Dartmoor Classic the Grando). From Princetown it’s homeward bound.
Should be a great ride and there are plenty of chances to cut the ride short if you don’t want to ride 80 miles.
Group A Ride:
As yet there is no ride. If you would like an alternative ride post it in the comments below.
Saturday Training Rides – A and B groups.
These rides are for people who are looking to develop their cycling performance and who wish to ride in a structured group following good group riding practice. They are aimed at people who already have a level of fitness. Novice cyclists should try one of the other YOGi rides first.
For the period before Christmas and into the new year there is an emphasis on developing an endurance base. As cycling events get closer and the weather warms up there will be opportunities for developing speed, power and to continue with endurance base riding. Fast rides will also feature. Groups will aim to have no more than 12 riders and, to facilitate this, there could be a split into A and B groups. There may be more than one ride and route offered, to facilitate various types of riding and keep group numbers manageable.
