Saturday 16A Road Ride – 8th March

Rob Barnes will be leading this week’s 16A ride:

This week the ride is a short route. The cafe stop is at Rockets and Rascals at the end of the ride.

The ride is suitable for those wishing and able to ride in an organised group and who have good base fitness. We have practised our skills and developed our base so now we will be riding in a tight group at tempo pace. This means that on this route the expected average will be 18+.

We will ride through and off to Trerulefoot. Just to remind ourselves, this will mean; following on behind the wheel not to either side so as to create two pace lines. Ride through at the speed of the group and keep the gaps close at the back of the group and as you ride forward. Ride shoulder to shoulder and keep the distance between the two lines tight so as to protect the riders behind and not to take up to much of the road so that cars can pass. Ride away from the gutter. Talk to each other to keep the group together.

From the roundabout we follow the lanes through Menheniot, onto Liskeard and then Dobwalls.

Then we will resume through and off back through Pelynt, Looe and on to Torpoint. Nice rolling roads so we will be able to keep a good tempo and be back early for a social coffee.

Here is the route:

Hope to see you there , Rob
