Thank you to Michael Taylor for volunteering to lead the A Ride again this weekend, the plan as follows;
Following two visits out to Lopwell Dam recently – one by car with grandchildren and one by bike – both of them to savour the Pump House legendary cake I plan to take you all out to this little gem. However, to make the route fit a little more to the advised A ride distance, we will head east out of Plymouth via Hemerdon, Sparkwell, Cornwood and up Dragon Hill. After turning right at Beatland Corner we cross Cadover Bridge and head onto Yelverton. Across the road and down toward Buckland Monocorum then on to Milton Combe and Maristow. Be aware there is a very fast descent heading into Maristow (reached 47mph down there today) before arriving at Lopwell Dam.
After coffee & cake, we’ll return via the road alongside the creek and up a stiff “little” climb enroute to Tamerton. Onwards and upwards via Looseleigh Lane, across the Derriford roundabout and back via Asda to Leigham and Marsh Mills.
Mileage is fractionally shorter than 35 but if people are up for any more we can discuss at the cafe stop. Keep everything crossed for good weather! See you Saturday.
