This weeks D ride will once again take advantage of a tailwind for the return journey…so with SW winds forecast we’ll head into bandit country as we cross the river into deepest, darkest Cornwall.
The planned route is to head from B&Q up to Yeleverton and across to Tavistock. Then it’s out through Crowndale towards the Bere Peninsula before we turn for Gulworthy and the nemesis of many a rider, the Gunnislake climb. Battling our way through the winds we ‘ll head to Callington and Liskeard through Duloe and down to Looe. We may stop for coffee here or alternatively we’ll push on to Seaton. Then it’s the exposed coast road with a definite tail wind (keep’s everything crossed) and a fast and furios blast to the ferry and home. Of course, if anyone wants more punishment we can always head around Whitsand Bay, Millbrook and St. John.
Route is around 73 miles with 7500ft of climbing and can be found here. Cafe stop will come a reasonable way in to the ride so be prepared! Normal 16 rules on pace and route apply i.e. determined by those riding!
Hope to see you there for more fun on the bike 😀
