From B&Q start we will head up the cycle path to Yelverton and can meet up with anyone else here. From Yelverton we will take the lanes to Walkhampton and onto Horrabridge. From Horrabridge we’ll head up Jordan Lane and follow to the crossroads, taking a left to Tavistock. After a brief stop, the climb up past the Hospital awaits and on to Lamerton, Milton Abbott and Launceston. Cafe stop will be the Pie Stop in Pennygillam Industrial Estate. After refreshments we head home taking the B3254 towards South Petherwin and Congdon’s Shop. Taking the B3257 back via Coads Green and Bray Shop to Callington. Then we head onto St Mellion, Hatt, Saltash and the Tamar Bridge. From here riders can split off or carry on via Crownhill and back to B&Q. The Route is approximately 60 Miles, good training for shorter upcoming sportive events.
This ride will be run within the ‘B’ ride pace where I expect an average of around 13MPH is achievable. If this pace is too quick for some of the group then it can be adjusted to suit. However if this will be too slow for your requirements then may I suggest the ‘C’ ride who will be most welcoming. With the roads that we will be riding on it is extremely difficult to guide a group spread out over the countryside.
With good weather that should be expecting then we should have an excellent day out on the bikes.
