Anyone interested in becoming a trained ride leader should take advantage of this opportunity courtesy of British Cycling and Sky.
This is of course aimed at those who intend to then volunteer to lead or co lead official Sky Rides (check the web site from the link below for information). But we are advertising here as the skills you learn will be invaluable as a leader of club rides. Those of us who have already received this training recommend it as time wells spent. You will then lead a few Sky rides and pass on the benefit of joining YOGi Cycling to those who enjoy the local Sky rides and looking to develop.
Nigel Rowe who is working this on behalf of the Sky Rides has this to say:-
We are looking for Ride Leaders that can inspire cyclists to get more out of their riding, and have fun. As a qualified British Cycling Ride Leader you’ll get a recognised qualification and be able to plan, deliver and evaluate rides to groups of beginner and intermediate level children or adults. You’ll receive kit, training, support and payment for delivering our Sky Ride Local bike rides.
This year’s training session is at Eggbuckland Community College on Sunday 12 April. For more information or to register your interest in becoming a Ride Leader visit the Sky Ride website.
