Tour of Britain Ride 13th September – Details!

So this is what you’ve all been waiting for…details of this year’s Tour of Britain club ride on Saturday the 13th September. 🙂 It’s a long post so stick with me!!  While not a sportive the route will be fully signed and we’ll have 3 feedstops for you with proper food and water to keep you going, as well as plenty of YOGi banter and support! Tour of Britain comes to Devon again!

Date for the diary 20th September

The Tour of Britain route for 2013 was announced yesterday and Devon is getting another great stage, possibly the defining stage of the race. Most of the action will be happening in East Devon but the finish will be on Hay Tor and will be a the first summit finish for the race. Date is the 20th September and there is always plenty of us riding up to see the race.

On a similar note the Tour Series will be at Torquay on the evening of the 28th May. This is a great chance to seem some circuit racing and possibly a better spectacle than the Tour of Britain with the riders lapping the circuit every couple of minutes. Saturday Road Rides – 15th September

As you’re probably all now aware, the Tour of Britain is coming through YOGi Land on Saturday so we will be arranging the rides to coincide with various vantage points from which to watch the professionals make mole-hills out of our mountains. There will be several rides to choose from. Race the Merrivale Hill Climb the day the ToB comes through.

Tour of Britain Returns to Dartmoor

12 lucky local cyclists including YOGi’s very own Andy Powell joined Rapha and Motorpoint to trial part of The Tour of Britain stage to be held on Thursday 15 September. This stage starts in Exeter and covers 110 miles (180 km) of the county before finishing in Exmouth. Dartmoor features heavily in the stage and could prove to be a deciding factor in this year’s Tour as the 96 world class riders will have to tackle three Skoda King of the Mountains climbs at Haytor, Coffin Stone and Huccaby Tor.
