I’ll keep this short and sweet as we opted to do the same ride as last weeks MTB fun ride!
14 intrepid riders met at the usual point at Yelverton. As I was running late I took the opportunity to do the same ride as Saturday because only one other rider took part.
Role call: Windy, Paul Minns, Paul Cant, Chris, Matt, Steve, Colin, Morgan, Tim, Hannah, Dave, Alex, James, Rob and Bracken the dog.
The dwarf run!!!! What a ride , this route has to be the longest single track around, its full of fast decent and technical climbs. the ground was a bit wet so the boys on fast tracks were struggling for grip. The ex student (Tom?) had a puncture which took him a while to change… see we missed Scott’s expertise in this field.
Anyways we navigated our way down to Double Waters with only a few near misses, a couple managed to get caught up in low hanging branches, hence the name Dwarf run!!! and Paul C was showing the boys and girl how to cross a bike up off a small root and managed to completely cock it up as his arms and legs went acimbo…. unbelievably he managed to hold on with his chest and man hood…. could have been nasty but instead was just a good talking point.
The route back became interesting as I tried an unknown route which resulted in us hike a biking up a steep bank. This effected the ride back to the cars because the legs were shot after the hike.
All had a great time and remarked on how good this route is……….. Obviously this is a Thursday adventure ride so what do you expect!!!!!! by the way the pint and packet of crisps were lush back at the Rock Inn.
