With August marching on and parents looking longingly at the back to school posters in Tesco’s, the thoughts of every Devon cyclist turn to this year’s Tour of Britain stage in the county. This year the route takes the peloton from Exmouth to Exeter, not as you might think on a short and blisteringly fast time trial but over 114 miles of beautiful Devon countryside. While the pro’s will ride this on Thursday the 11th September (and no doubt we’ll organise a club ride out to watch), why not pit yourself against them and ride the route on an organised club ride on 13th September?
That’s right, the second Yogi Tour of Britain Ride will take place on Saturday 13th September. There are 2 options, either the full 114 miles of the best that Devon has to offer or a shorter but challenging 64 miler from Exmouth and finishing at Tavistock.
As last time we’ll take care of the logistics for you, transport for you and your bike, there and back, a signed route and our already legendary feed stops! We want to make the event as accessible as possible so also plan to offer transport back from Tavistock for anyone who needs it. Cost will depend on the number of participants but are expected to be similar to last time.
At this stage please put the date in your diary and post below to register your interest, stating which route you would like to ride and if you’d like transport home. This is not binding but will be great help in planning the event.
To run events like this we rely on volunteers coming forward to help and without this support we simply can’t run this ride. Please ask partners, relatives and friends or any of our extended YOGi family if they would be willing to help out on the day and post below.
More details to follow but we hope you will join us for another great day out on a bike!! 😀
