A few early pics here – more to follow
For those that have signed up and paid you should have had an e-mail with final details, but I’ve copied them below just in case. We still have a few places left for both sessions so if there is anyone still undecided, whether you’ve been before or not, get your name down. If you haven’t been before it’s a unique and exhilarating experience not to be missed!
Travel and times
The coach will be leaving 09:30a.m. Promptly from B&Q and will arrive back by 20:00
The first session is from 13:00-15:00 and the second session will run straight on from 15:00-17:00 after which we would like to leave as soon as possible.
What to bring
Cycling top and shorts. No baggy clothing is allowed on the track.
Helmets – compulsory.
Gloves – You MUST wear gloves. Full fingered or fingerless are acceptable but they must be cycling gloves. If you don’t have any they will be available for hire at the track.
Shoes – All the bikes have Look Delta pedals. They will not allow you to put your own pedals on, you will not be able to use cycling shoes with any other cleats on and you will not be able to use cycling shoes without cleats on, they will not grip on the pedals properly. Most of our local bike shops carry a small stock of Look Delta cleats which can be fitted to all standard road-cycling shoes. I’d strongly recommend changing your cleats before arriving at the track and finding your normal cleats seized in! If you do not have cycling shoes and Look Delta cleats you should bring a pair of soft soled shoes and the track will provide flat pedals with toe straps.
Water bottle (it gets very warm and dry on the track), towel, toiletries etc.
Food. There is a cafe in the leisure centre next door to the track or bring your own food for the day. On the way there and back we don’t intend to stop for anything other than short toilet/coffee stops.
