It’s AGM time again folks and the start of the new YOGi year, in fact our 4th as a formal club. Once again we have planned a full on day that we are sure will suit all members and their families, so do invite them along for the post ride part of the day. The venue is The Miners Arms – Hemerdon.
We will start the day with..….. yes you’ve guessed …….some rides, all will either pass the venue early on, or set off from the Miners, giving the option of bringing your car (there’s plenty of car parking there by the way), and a post ride change of clothes etc.
Ride details will be posted as usual on Thursday but basically it will be something very close to this:-
09:00 – 13:00 – ‘12’, ‘14’ and ‘16’ Road Rides
Canceled Roadies’ MTB Ride (Will combine with MTB fun ride below)– Why not get back to your roots and for this special day remind yourself how much fun and what a nice change it is to ride off-road (and I’ll be truthful – to help our MTB leaders to fulfil the numbers requirements needed to complete their ride leader qualification). Due to a lack of support for this ride we have decided to combine it with the usual Fun Ride, don’t let that put you off though as this ride will suit all comers to MTB.
10:00 – 13:00 – MTB Fun Ride– Meet 10am Miners Arms Car Park, Hemerdon. These rides run on the first and third Saturday of each month and aim to encourage anyone to try this great leisure activity/sport and experience the benefits and camaraderie that comes when riding with like-minded people.
Pace is set for the slowest rider, but it’s also a great social ride for more experienced riders as well. Expect to be out for approx 3hrs but actual ride time will be less than that.
If you are new to this ride and would like to talk to someone, please feel to contact John or Penny Allan: Tel 01752 426105 / Mob: 07824505817 or Steve Monk 07827 353972 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
All rides will end at 1pm at The Miners Arms when we will commence our family orientated afternoon.
This year food will be available to purchase, burgers, pasta, chunky chips, sandwiches, etc. Whilst we are topping up our protein and carbs there will be chance to buy raffle tickets for the chance of winning some seriously good prizes, some cycling related and this year some that will suit the non-cycling fanatics in the family.
The next hour(ish) will be filled with the usual YOGi style social chit chat fuelled by beverages available from the bar, reminisces of some of this year’s great and not so great rides and just having a good ole aprez ride chillout!
At a suitable time we will then run our AGM. As is our custom this will be short and sweet in terms of the formal content leaving loads of time for the fun stuff where we present our annual awards.
