A few early pics here. More to follow.
Okay folks, we’re going to do things a little differently this week to celebrate. If you can’t make any of the rides then why not bring the family to the AGM – we promise it will be fun!
The Leisure and the Steady Road Rides will be combined; both leaving B&Q Coypool, Plympton sometime after meeting at 9am.
The route goes via The White Thorn at Shaugh Prior, if anyone wishes to park there and join the ride at approximately 9.45am. The ride will finish here at around 1pm in time for the YOGi fun and Bambi-Q. You can park here all day and leave fresh clothes to change into.
We’ll split riders into smaller groups with some of the steady riders looking after people. So something a bit different, and it’ll be nice to mix it up.
The route is here and also has a few surprises!
MTB Fun Ride
Meet 10am starts and ends at the White Thorn, Shaugh Prior, after which our AGM and family pm event commences. As a reminder this ride is aimed at introducing bike fit newcomers and their families to club riding you are welcome to join us for this whether or not this is your first ride, okay we do hope to gain some new members so.
Wayne’s World MTB Ride
As you may have seen poor old (sorry!) Wayne has dislocated his clavical so is unable to lead this ride. If someone would like to volunteer please post below but for now we’ll merge this ride with the MTB Fun Ride
The end of our second year as a formal club and once again we have planned a full on day that we are sure will suit all members and their families. Invite them along after the rides end at 13:00. The venue is The White Thorn – Shaugh Prior
We will start the day with our usual selection of rides and all will either pass the venue early on the route or actually set off from there, that way giving the option of bringing your car and a post ride change of clothes etc. There is limited parking and we have permission to use the pubs car park from am onwards.
So all rides will end together at The White Thorn car park at 13:00 when we will commence our family orientated afternoon.
To kick things off Chris Glazier and Jez Ralph will be donning their aprons and getting the ‘Bambi Q’ fired up (err……other choices will be available). Meanwhile the rest of the committee will be selling raffle tickets ready for the draw later in the afternoon. The next hour (ish) will be filled with the usual YOGi style social chit chat fuelled by beverages available from the bar and reminisces of some of this years great rides (and likely some that were not!).
At a suitable time we will then run our AGM. Like last year it will be based on a short and sharp formal content and then the fun stuff where we present our annual awards. Full Agenda below:-
- Annual Report
- Accounts Update
- Announce Name of New Rolling Committee Member
- Award ceremony (bring your loud cheers)
- Raffle Draw
The committee look forward to seeing loads of our members and their families on the day.
