I am pleased to announce that the first ever YOGi Road Races are being organised by myself with assistance from Andy Gray on behalf of the club and will take place on Sunday 18th September at the Brentor circuit. The morning race will be for women and juniors and will be 40km (approx 25 miles) and in the afternoon a men’s 3rd and 4th Cat race of 65km (approx 37 miles).
These races have not yet appeared on the British Cycling calendar but I have had confirmation from the Regional Events Organiser that everything is okay. If you would like further details please e-mail email@example.com.
The Committee will be responsible for recruiting volunteers to assist with marshalling, refreshments (post race), line judges and lead car drivers, so please let them know if you are interested in helping.
Please support these races by either entering (it would be great to see a ‘herd’ of black and white jerseys!!), coming along to cheer the riders on or by putting your name forward to help the Committee.
If you are interested in racing, YOGi members’ Jason Bramhall and Brian Bullen have volunteered to co-ordinate men’s racing and Lynda McTier and Holly Russell volunteered to co-ordinate women’s racing, so please speak to them or keep your eye on the website for their posts.
We will keep you updated with information about the race throughout the coming months.
