Saturday D Road Ride – 23rd July

Mike will be leading the D ride again this week and has the following cunning plan… From HQ we’ll head to Paignton via Ermington and Totnes, then it’s on to Teignmouth and Newton Abbot before heading back with an option for a climb over Haytor for those who have the legs for it and back by the usual route. Cafe and pitstops will be decided on the day depending on the group and the pace will be determined by those riding. Looks to be a dry and warm day with little wind so perfect riding conditions and it’d be great … Read more…

Saturday D Road Ride – 2nd July

Thanks once again to Mike Smith for offering to lead what sounds like a brilliant ride this Saturday His plan is to meet at the Plymouth side of the Torpoint Ferry at 08:30. From there we’ll head straight to Looe, picking up Adrian ‘Jens’ Longman and on to Lanhydrock, Bodmin, Camelford and Tintagel. The route back is via Launceston and Callington so overall it should be around the century mark for those doing the full ride. AS always with the D ride pace will be adjusted according to those out to keep the group together, cafe or pit stops will … Read more…

The sun is shining so let’s get riding! 🙂 Been a little while since we’ve had a century ride so what better than to get a long ride in while the weather is good! The plan is to head out to Tavistock via The George and the main road before picking up the ToB route we rode a couple of years ago. So from Tavy it’s out through Lydford, Okehampton, North Tawton , Crediton and back to Exeter before turning for home via Haldon, Chudleigh, Bovey Tracey and the usual route back. Looks a bit like this! Cafe stop will … Read more…

Saturday D Road Ride – 21st May

For those brave and hardy souls familiar with the Keepers of the Cog and in particular Rule #9  the plan for tomorrow is as follows: Actually nothing too epic!  I’d suggest we plan for a Totnes loop, out through Plymstock, Yealmpton and Ermington then up the valley and straight on to Avonwick and the top road to Totnes before heading back through Dartington and South Brent.  Option of a coffee stop at Totnes if needed or back to Rockets to relive our heroics? If it’s really horrific that will probably be enough but if it’s better than the forecast plenty of … Read more…

Saturday D Road Ride – 14th May

So, marginally more organised than last week and hoping I won’t be BNMCC again… 🙂 And in the best form of re-cycling, here’s one I prepared earlier: Anyway, leaving at the usual of 08:30 I’m suggesting we head the usual route to Ashburton then on to Newton Abbot, Teignmouth, Shaldon, Torbay, Totnes, Avonwick, blast down the valley for those that still have the legs for it and home via Yealmpton.  Usual rules apply so we may tweak and change the route according to what people want to do.  Coffee stop somewhere between Teignmouth and Totnes! (Probably means it’ll be the … Read more…
