Sunday 15-17 Road Ride – 17th March

So a couple of changes for this week…No rides on Saturday so we’ll head out on Sunday! Second change is we’ll meet at The George at Roborough at 9 – mostly on account of me being lazy! 🙂 From The George we’ll head out to Tavistock but trying to shelter in the lanes, we’ll go via Green Lane and Whitchurch. From there out to Gunnislake and on to Kelly Bray before dropping down to Golberdon and up again to Pensilva! Onwards to Liskeard before ducking back in to the lanes I’m sure we’ll find our way to Trereulefoot eventually! Then … Read more…

Saturday 15-17 Road Ride – 9th March

Definitely looking like a wet one this weekend, so just to make sure we get good use of the rain jackets I thought we could head over the moors! The plan is to head out from HQ and up Deux Alpes to Lee Moor, Cadover and Yelverton (aim to be there by 9:50 if you want to meet us there). Then it’s on to Princetown and Two Bridges towards Dartmeet. We’ll turn right before the drop and head towards Venford and on to Holne & Buckfast. A cafe stop at Totnes beckons, got to be The Curator and then back … Read more…

Saturday 15-17 Road Ride 2nd March

With a rapidly changing weather forecast a bit of flexibility may be called for tomorrow, but as I type this it’s not looking too bad with no rain until later in the day and blowy but not strong winds! So once again we’ll try to pick up a tailwind home (hahaha!) by heading in to Cornwall. From HQ we’ll head to the bridge, on to Callington and Coads Green before dropping down to Rilla Mill and up, (and up and up) to Minions! It’s then usually a pretty good run to Looe via Dobwalls and Duloe – fast decent from … Read more…

Saturday 15-17 Road Ride – 23rd Feb

With the weather getting warmer and maybe more than a glimpse of some sunshine a coastal trip seems in order. So the plan for this week will be a loop out through Gara Bridge to Dartmouth and Slapton and back through Kingsbridge and Loddiswell. Cafe stop when we feel like it but somewhere between Blackpool Sands and Loddiswell. Pace will be kept to 15-17 and focussed on keeping together as a group. A great group again last week so if you’re even slightly tempted to step up please give it a go! 🙂

Road Ride 15-17 Sat 16th Feb

This is the second of our steadier ‘step-up’ rides so if you’re one of the stronger riders on the 14-16 ride please consider giving it go! With the weather looking pretty ok for tomorrow and an almost balmy 11deg I thought we’d take a trip across the moors. So from HQ we’ll head up through Leigham picking up at The George around 9:25 for anyone who wants to meet us there (yes, I’m looking at you Mr Wildman 🙂 ) Then it’s on to Meavy and Princetown and across the moors to Morty. We’ll then have a bit of a … Read more…

Saturday 16-18 Road Ride – 26th Jan

This weeks ride will take us across the ferry and in to bandit country! Current plan is to head to Looe, on to Dobwalls and Minions before heading back through Gunnislake, Tavistock and Whitchurch route back to base. Route is about 68 miles but with plenty of options to cut short depending on weather (could be wet and windy!) and what people want to do. Coffee stop when we’re ready but loads of options but probably worth bringing some food! Route can be found here Hope to see you on Saturday! 🙂

16 – 18 Road Ride 5th January

So if there are any takers I’ll lead a 16-18 ride which will head to Totnes before turning to Buckfast and on to the moor through Holne and Vennford. We’ll stop for coffee at Foxtor in Princetown before a fast blast back to P-town. Distance will be somewhere around 55-60 miles with around 5500ft of climbing. Route will look a bit like this Coffee stop is well in to the ride so come prepared and pace will be much more 16 than 18…we might not even make that given the amount of climbing but let’s see how it goes…! 🙂 … Read more…

Hi All, OK, we’re on for the Century (like it was ever in doubt!) Route will be out to Bude through Tavy Okehampton and Holsworthy, short stretch down the coast, it’d be rude to go all that way and skip Millook! Then back through Launceston and Callington to home. Hopefully a tail wind home as it’s forecast to be NW Should look quite like this! Remember we’re heading off at 8 a.m. from Jollies (B&Q) 🙂 Well, probably 5 past!! Saturday C Road Ride – 24th Sept

This week’s C ride will once again be led by Gavin Avery and his better looking assistant… 😀 Plan is for a trip to bandit country so it’s either B&Q for 9 or if you fancy a bit of a lay in we’ll aim to be at the bridge around 09:40. After the up comes the mostly down to Liskeard then we’ll blag our way through the lanes to … Read more…

Saturday D Road Ride – 23rd July

Mike will be leading the D ride again this week and has the following cunning plan… From HQ we’ll head to Paignton via Ermington and Totnes, then it’s on to Teignmouth and Newton Abbot before heading back with an option for a climb over Haytor for those who have the legs for it and back by the usual route. Cafe and pitstops will be decided on the day depending on the group and the pace will be determined by those riding. Looks to be a dry and warm day with little wind so perfect riding conditions and it’d be great … Read more…

Saturday D Road Ride – 2nd July

Thanks once again to Mike Smith for offering to lead what sounds like a brilliant ride this Saturday His plan is to meet at the Plymouth side of the Torpoint Ferry at 08:30. From there we’ll head straight to Looe, picking up Adrian ‘Jens’ Longman and on to Lanhydrock, Bodmin, Camelford and Tintagel. The route back is via Launceston and Callington so overall it should be around the century mark for those doing the full ride. AS always with the D ride pace will be adjusted according to those out to keep the group together, cafe or pit stops will … Read more…
